If you want to reach a destination, you need to know where you are starting, have a plan or map for getting there, and take the journey with someone with whom you are comfortable. So before we begin to work with you, we like to get acquainted, to decide if we want to work together on the important task of creating financial security for you.
We want to become familiar with your goals, your expectations of what can be accomplished, and make sure that you are serious about yourself and your money. We want you to make sure you will be comfortable working with us and developing a cooperative partnership, and we want that for ourselves.
We then gather data through one or more fact finders, and analyze it in light of your goals. It may be necessary for you to gather further information from your own records or from companies with which you have accounts.
Next, we meet to discuss some possible solutions, refine them, and come to agreement about them. If you agree with the recommendations and wish to implement them, we will recommend companies that we believe will best meet your goals, and meet with you to explain how their solutions would work for you specifically.
We believe strongly in full disclosure, and in the client understanding a solution before proceeding. It is important to understand, believe in, and commit to a solution to make it work well.
Plans and goals can change, and for that reason, we recommend an annual review to make sure things are working as planned, to do any fine tuning on the plan, or to address new goals. We are available by appointment at any time to help you address major decisions or changes.
Our recommendations are based on financial science, evidence and research, our judgment and experience, and contractual guarantees of partner companies. We have a bias towards known and predictable outcomes, instead of on projections based on probabilities and extrapolations, for example, what has happened in the past in the stock market. After all, in the stock market, past performance is no guarantee of future results. Therefore, actual results may trail the returns from the market, or they may exceed them. In either case, you will know how your solutions work and can draw some peace of mind from knowing your outcomes in advance.
